Bringing an Old Photo Back to Life with AI and Manual Repainting: Before and After Comparison

I worked on an old photo of a couple last night. Using an experimental combination of AI photo restoration, colorizing, and manual repainting, I was able to bring this photo back to life, but didn’t resemble to the original persons in a way that I had hoped, as I had to do lots of guesswork due to the missing details in source photo and lack of any other reference material. Here is the before and after comparison of the final result!
